About the role
- Design and own the end-to-end data architecture: ingestion, storage, transformation, and serving layers
- Build AI-powered systems including matching algorithms, dynamic pricing, demand forecasting, and route optimisation
- Lead full-stack development of the platform, maintaining solid engineering standards across the codebase
- Drive the ML/AI roadmap from early experimentation through to production at scale
- Architect backend systems for reliability and scalability as transaction volume grows
- Oversee API design and third-party integrations (logistics, telematics, payments)
- Hire and build an engineering team as the company grows
- Partner with the CEO on fundraising, due diligence, and investor conversations
Requirements
- 3+ years in an engineering leadership or senior tech lead role, ideally at a fast-moving startup or scale-up
- Strong background in data architecture and engineering: pipelines, warehousing, real-time streaming
- Hands-on experience with ML/AI systems in production — not just prototypes
- Solid full-stack fundamentals, comfortable going deep on backend and across the stack when needed
- Fluent in English (written and verbal)
- Based in Germany
