About the role

  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis on US equity markets, identifying trends and opportunities aligned with the Fund’s investment strategy.
  • Prepare proposals for research and analytical initiatives, including detailed financial analyses and written recommendations for investment decisions.
  • Monitor and report on US and global economic, political, and industry trends affecting equity investments.
  • Liaise with company management, industry associations, brokers/dealers, and external investment managers to gather insights and assess opportunities.
  • Operate and support portfolio management systems, including designing and implementing data scenarios and enhancing databases.
  • Maintain trade information and provide follow-up on transactions initiated by the Portfolio Manager.
  • Ensure portfolio activity complies with investment policies and participate in preparing monthly and quarterly reports for Senior Management.
  • Prepare, verify, and interpret portfolio statistics, including performance and risk attribution analyses.
  • Support trade execution and capital allocation decisions under supervision.
  • Provide analytical and administrative support for Fund assets under the Portfolio Manager and, as assigned, supports other Portfolio Managers across asset classes.
  • Perform other related duties, as required.
  • Be available for occasional travel within North America for site visits and conferences.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary continuous learning.

Requirements

  • University degree in Commerce, Economics or related field
  • One to three years of directly relevant investment experience, ideally with exposure to US equity markets
  • Completion of at least Level 1 of the CFA program and ongoing studies towards the CFA designation
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to analyse complex market forecasts and financial reports
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office combined with basic programming skills (e.g. Python)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to communicate complex matters to both investment and non-investment professionals
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, showing initiative and sharing information
  • Professionalism, integrity, and adaptability in a dynamic environment
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Passion for capital markets and prioritising members’ best interests.
