About the role
- Responsible for providing support for more complex inquiries from associates and R1 Leaders regarding HR procedures, processes, and policies, and focus on case resolution.
- Conduct thorough, legally compliant internal investigations and working through employee relations issues.
- Provide day-to-day performance management guidance and support to R1 people leaders including, but not limited to, managing disciplinary action process, career development, and performance improvement plans (PIPS).
- Manage requests for accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), PWFA as well as religious accommodation requests.
- As directed by HR Leaders, help support and execute reductions in force to support the strategic initiatives by the business.
- Actively partner with COEs to build and develop the HR knowledge base to help associates quickly and easily find answers to their questions via self-service.
- Identify and collaborate within the HR Shared Services teams on continuous improvement opportunities to enhance, standardize and globalize HR business processes and tools.
- Proactively document new processes and or update missing steps process documents, as needed.
- Participate in ad hoc HR projects as directed by HR leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field strongly preferred or a minimum 4 years of HR generalist experience.
- Proven experience in an HR Advisory role or similar position.
- Working knowledge of HR disciplines (e.g. employee relations, performance management, compensation management, organization development, talent acquisition, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
- High level of written and verbal communication and the ability to work with all levels of an organization.
- Ability to make decisions and seek resolution without direction.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proven relationship and consultancy skills with a range of business leaders.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing and conflict resolution skills.
- Project management (e.g. work planning, resource sharing) including facilitating and coordinating groups.
- Strong business acumen, analytical skills and understanding of operational environments.
