About the role

  • Own and manage the **end-to-end lifecycle of network tools and utilities**, from Proof of Concept through pilot, production deployment, ongoing maintenance, and decommissioning;
  • Review, test, and validate **new versions of automation tools and utilities**, ensuring interoperability and compatibility with underlying enterprise infrastructure components;
  • Validate network devices against automation and management tools, including **monitoring, configuration collection, and device modeling**, and ensure accurate representation in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB);
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance **scripts and utilities** to support tool integration, certification, and ongoing maintenance activities;
  • Deploy tools and utilities into **managed, high-availability, and geographically redundant data center environments;**
  • Manage the **operational aspects of network automation and management tools**, including stability, availability, and lifecycle support;
  • Execute a broad range of **DevOps engineering responsibilities**, and develop subject matter expertise in one of the following domains: *Network Automation, Fault Management, Configuration Management, Performance Management;*
  • Act as a **team representative** in regular network management and operational review meetings;
  • Serve as an **interface and coordination point** between Network Engineering, Network Operations, and Automation/Tooling teams;
  • Coordinate and collaborate with **external vendors** regarding tooling defects, updates, patches, and upgrades;
  • Participate in **network management design reviews and peer review processes.

Requirements

  • Experience with Agile/DevOps network automation workflows;
  • Scripting experience is required in Python / Ansible and other scripting languages are also welcome;
  • Basic understanding of Linux Operating system;
  • Basic understanding of telecommunication devices / components (for example routers or switches or voice components;
  • Understanding of network management protocols, concepts (SNMP, Syslog, SSH, API or AAA), basic understanding enterprise infrastructure services (NTP, DNS, LDAP).
