About the role

  • Perform Protective Relay Design & Coordination: Design, specify, calculate settings, and coordinate protective relays and relay control schemes.
  • Modeling, short circuit and overstressed breaker studies.
  • Ensure all relay settings activities conform with established policies and client design standards.
  • Present technical solutions to key customers and respond to technical concerns.
  • Collaborate with teams at Qualus to develop and implement technical solutions supporting Engineering Department objectives.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relay settings experience in major utility substations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with a power systems focus
  • An MS Degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the BS Engineering degree
  • Experience in protection and control engineering and relay settings
  • Experience with ASPEN
  • Professional Engineering registration in the working state a plus
  • Strong analytical and computer skills
  • Ability to identify necessary software for design work
  • Strong commitment to customer service
  • Highly motivated "self-starter"
  • Proven multitasking skills
  • Excellent document management and organizational skills
  • CYME familiarity, reclosers/sectionalizing schemes/fuse coordination preferred
