Direct construction management and report to Project Director for underground projects in Connecticut.
Manage construction activities, startup support, and technical activities per project plans and specifications.
Aggressively manage and inspect day-to-day activities of multiple electric contractor crews for substation and transmission line work.
Facilitate installation of electric infrastructure ensuring safety standards, construction standards, specifications, and regulations are met.
Manage performance objectives for cycle time and cost; verify unit quantities and approve contractor documentation.
Schedule and coordinate electric system outages and coordinate permits with third-party utilities and agencies.
Maintain frequent contact with contractor supervision and customer coordination; perform job walk-downs and storm duty assignments.
Requirements
Thorough knowledge of Company work, environmental, and safety practices, including a working knowledge of electric operations, and the ability to maintain or obtain switching and outage authorization.
In-depth knowledge of materials, construction standards, regulations (OSHA), and safety requirements for electric distribution and substation construction.
Thorough knowledge of PC and job/work management applications including AS8, Atlas, Mobile Maps & MS Office Suite.
Ability to manage and inspect day-to-day activities of electric contractor crews and oversee cable installations and cut-ins.
Experience coordinating permits, third-party utilities, outages, and customer/site readiness verification.
Knowledgeable about distribution contracts and contract compliance.
Ability to perform weekly safety audits and document performance in Asset Suite Safety Audit/Observation Tool.
