About the role

  • Supporting the company's energy strategy team and other internal stakeholders in various transactional matters
  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of the power solutions for a data center campus
  • Providing actionable advice to business stakeholders
  • Negotiating and drafting contracts with regulated electric utilities, merchant generation suppliers, and other third-party providers of power-related services
  • Advising business stakeholders on opportunities and risks in power transactions
  • Facilitating communication among internal stakeholders
  • Working with and managing outside counsel
  • Assisting with legal and regulatory compliance
  • Supporting corporate governance matters and managing books and records
  • Supporting key business stakeholders on power-related aspects of lending/financing, joint ventures, acquisitions, construction, real estate, intellectual property, etc.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school with strong academic credentials
  • Admission to the Bar of a U.S. state or the District of Columbia
  • Five or more years of legal experience as a practicing lawyer working in a general corporate transactional practice
  • Experience working with or representing regulated utilities or large consumers of energy (Nice to Have)
  • Experience with retail generation transactions (Nice to Have)
  • Experience with PPAs (Nice to Have)
  • Experience with behind the meter generation projects and other non-traditional power solutions (Nice to Have)
  • Experience representing large consumers of energy (Nice to Have)
