About the role
- Oversee enterprise laboratory operations, including multiple laboratory sites and contracted laboratory entities
- Ensure regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and operational excellence
- Report to the Vice President of Clinical Excellence
- Drive quality improvement initiatives across the enterprise, including lab services
- Lead the strategic implementation of evidence-based practices, lab standardization, and quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure that the test methodologies selected provide the quality of results required for patient care
- Enforce safety protocols for handling hazardous materials
- Collaborate with program operational leads to ensure compliance and application of improvement measures
Requirements
- Certified as a laboratory director in forensic or clinic laboratory toxicology in the continental U.S.
- Ph.D. in one of the natural sciences as defined in HHS Guidelines
- Experience in forensic toxicology with emphasis on the collection and analysis of biological specimens for drugs of abuse
- Experience in forensic applications of analytical toxicology (e.g. publications, court testimony, conducting research on the toxicology of drugs of abuse) or qualify as an expert witness in forensic toxicology
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience providing day-to-day management of a clinical laboratory
- Minimum of three (3) years providing day-to-day management of an HHS-certified laboratory within the last three (3) years of this requirement
