About the role
- Lead audits end‑to‑end, ensuring delivery to agreed timelines and quality standards
- Manage and coach audit team members, reviewing working papers and providing constructive feedback
- Lead more complex audit engagements, including planning, stakeholder engagement and coordination of deliverables
- Apply approved audit tools, methodologies and data analytics (including TM+ and sampling techniques)
- Assess business processes, risks and controls, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Support the implementation of Group Internal Audit strategy and priorities
- Actively contribute to GIA Centres of Excellence (e.g. Underwriting, Claims, AI, Change/Transformation, and Risk Culture)
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with business stakeholders
- Handle differing viewpoints professionally, escalating where appropriate
- Provide ongoing guidance, coaching and performance feedback to team members
Requirements
- Proven experience in internal audit, external audit or risk management, ideally within insurance or financial services
- Strong understanding of business processes, risks and internal controls, with the ability to identify practical improvement opportunities
- Working knowledge of the Institute of Internal Auditors’ Global Internal Audit Standards and relevant regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated ability to lead audits end‑to‑end, applying audit methodology and exercising sound professional judgement
- Confident stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to influence and challenge constructively
- Experience coaching or guiding others, with a collaborative and professional approach
