About the role
- Develop and execute channel strategic plans while providing expert technical guidance on a range of products to intermediaries and clients
- Oversee underwriting activities and manage the profitability of QBE's Life Sciences products
- Evaluate risk for new business & renewals to ensure profitable growth
- Provide senior technical and specialist product expertise to corporate intermediaries/clients
- Ensure ongoing personal technical development to achieve the ideal DAL state
- Support divisional underwriting function to actively manage talent for succession planning
- Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions, and good practice to minimize risks
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers, intermediaries, and stakeholders
- Contribute to the development and implementation of channel strategic plans
- Motivate and develop the team by demonstrating good leadership behaviors
- Achieve overall local underwriting governance requirements and internal audit standards
Requirements
- Significant underwriting experience with regional exposure
- Established customer and broker relationships
- Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
