About the role
- Help integrate capacity modeling capabilities into our software platform.
- Act as an internal subject matter expert to help implement ideal modeling assumptions.
- Work with external partners to ensure high-quality data.
- Provide expertise into responses to user questions and methodology discussions in our sales process.
- Provide ideas to improve the product to better fit customer use cases, including enhancing constraints analysis, sensitivity, and scenario analysis.
- Work on economic modeling projects related to transmission congestion analysis, LMP basis risk, and more.
- Manage FERC processes.
- Work with software developers to integrate models into our cloud ecosystem.
- Assist with technical sales calls with potential new clients.
- Manage client engagements and ongoing client relationships.
- Present study results and findings to key stakeholders.
Requirements
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: transmission planning, renewable grid integration studies, power system economics, large load interconnection, and reliability assessment.
- Previous Consulting experience (EPE, Siemens, LEIDOS, nFront, LCG, Ascend Analytics, ICF, etc.).
- Previous utility/ISO experience (preferably in CAISO, PJM, SPP, MISO, or ERCOT).
- Working knowledge of power system studies.
- Experience with PSS/E and TARA and powerflow modeling solutions (e.g. PowerWorld, PSLF, TSAT,PSCAD/EMTDC, ASPEN).
- Deep understanding of the interconnection queue process and how grid operators (ISOs/RTOs) evaluate new generation/load requests.
- The desire to work in a small and growing team in an autonomous working culture.
- A MSEE or Ph.D.
