About the role
- Lead the design, implementation, and execution of automated test frameworks to ensure the quality and integrity of Public’s web platform.
- Define and drive the overall QA automation strategy across UI and REST layers.
- Design, implement, and maintain Grafana dashboards to visualize QA automation metrics, test coverage, and execution trends, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Oversee the maintenance, scalability, and continuous improvement of automated test infrastructure.
- Mentor and guide QA automation engineers, promoting best practices and technical excellence.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Development, and DevOps teams to ensure high-quality releases.
- Review and approve detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
- Ensure full regression coverage and coordinate thorough regression testing for resolved defects and new releases.
- Monitor test automation execution, analyze results, and provide actionable quality metrics to stakeholders.
- Identify gaps in testing processes and propose innovative testing methods, tools, and frameworks.
- Lead automation integration within CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing.
- Ensure effective defect tracking, prioritization, and resolution with development teams.
- Drive improvements in test coverage, reliability, and execution performance.
- Contribute to release planning and risk assessment from a quality perspective.
Requirements
- University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 4+ years of experience in QA automation, with at least 1+ year in a leadership or mentoring role.
- Strong programming experience in Java (3+ years).
- Solid hands-on experience with web automation frameworks such as Selenium and RestAssured.
- Proven experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch.
- Experience working with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins) and integrating automated tests into pipelines.
- Strong knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Experience with REST APIs testing tools (e.g., Postman).
- Experience with issue and project tracking tools (Jira and the Atlassian product stack).
- Working knowledge of databases (SQL, MongoDB, InfluxDB) for backend validation.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage priorities, mentor team members, and drive quality ownership across teams.
