About the role

  • Support the efficient and high-quality execution of general ledger accounting as part of an international accounting team.
  • Independently handle all general ledger postings for several international entities.
  • Responsible for posting accruals, provisions, intercompany transactions, and other general ledger entries in compliance with legal requirements and internal guidelines.
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal departments and external partners regarding inquiries related to postings, reconciliations, and balance sheet items.
  • Analyze balance sheet and P&L accounts, identify discrepancies, and support the implementation of appropriate measures to ensure financial data quality.
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of processes, policies, and internal controls within the general ledger function.
  • Actively contribute to the optimization and automation of our GL processes, as well as the implementation and further development of ERP systems and reporting tools.
  • Support the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB and IFRS - especially in report creation, account reconciliation, and documentation of balance sheet items.
  • Work closely with internal departments (e.g. AR/AP team, Controlling, Group Accounting, Tax, Treasury) and with external partners such as auditors.
  • Ensure that all activities in the General Ledger area comply with legal requirements, corporate policies, and compliance standards.

Requirements

  • Successfully completed a degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field – ideally with a focus on Finance, Accounting, or Controlling.
  • Several years of professional experience in general ledger accounting in an international environment.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial statement preparation, and relevant accounting and tax regulations.
  • Experienced in working with ERP systems and reporting tools – knowledge of SAP Business by Design, Vena, or comparable systems is a plus.
  • Analytical, structured, and solution-oriented approach to work, combined with strong numerical skills.
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken; additional languages such as German, Dutch, or French are a plus.
  • Enjoy working in a team, take initiative, and are known for your accuracy and strong sense of responsibility.
