About the role

  • Work with clients and stakeholders across major UK and European investment programmes including transport, energy, utilities, and complex construction projects.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for capital infrastructure programmes including commercial models, risk allocation and whole life cost analysis to meet challenging timelines and budgets
  • Lead competitive procurement processes from PSQ through to ITT and award
  • Lead supplier negotiations for complex commercial programmes
  • Draft and review commercial and contractual documentation including NEC, FIDIC and bespoke forms of contracts)
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and market intelligence.
  • Influence senior stakeholders to ensure alignment with capital delivery priorities.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate procurement and delivery risks.
  • Establish baselines, measure performance, and report progress to clients and programme managers.
  • Work collaboratively with client stakeholders and with technical, legal and PMO teams
  • Contribute to internal capability building, tools and thought leadership
  • Advise clients on route-to-market, commercial strategy, and supplier engagement for complex capital programmes.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in capital procurement, gained within a Client, Consulting, or Supplier environment
  • Strong track record of delivering or supporting large, complex, Capital programmes
  • Practical understanding of capex environments and major project delivery
  • Familiarity with NEC4 and/or FIDIC contractual frameworks
  • Strong core procurement capability, including category strategy, sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management
  • Strong commercial judgement and risk management skills
  • Team leadership experience and a collaborative mindset.
  • Excellent organisational and programme management skills.
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders in fast-paced, delivery-focused environments.
