About the role

  • Input and retrieve data from a computer including specialized software programs for the Parks & Grounds division
  • Maintain files and records, including organizing and establishing appropriate filing processes
  • Greet customers in-person, online, and on calls and answer questions about services
  • Type reports, forms, and other documents
  • Provide information from reports and records, including confidential information
  • Design and edit forms and correspondence for final review
  • Process and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and correspondence
  • Maintain calendars and schedule meetings, appointments, and conferences
  • Take notes at meetings as needed
  • May assist with bookkeeping responsibilities, including handling cash, program budgets, and expenditures
  • Handle billing, requisitions, and purchase orders
  • May assist with payroll and time tracking responsibilities
  • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Two (2) years of clerical experience
  • OR an equivalent combination of job-related education and experience [substituting each 1 year of post-secondary education/training for 6 months of experience]
  • Specific experience using specialized computers or software packages may be required
