About the role
- Support underwriting of renewable energy assets, particularly BESS, including reviewing assumptions with Development, revenue modeling, and risk assessment to inform pricing, development and investment decisions.
- Provide strategic financial insights to the development team to support negotiations with counterparties, customers & offtakers.
- Maintain and develop transaction and underwriting models to support structuring, valuation, negotiations with capital providers, and evaluation of project economics.
- Support execution of renewable energy transactions, including financial structuring, diligence coordination, and closing execution.
- Support preparation of investment materials, including memos and presentations for internal investment committee.
- Support capital raising initiatives, including investor outreach, data room management, and diligence processes.
- Track and synthesize market intelligence on financing structures, pricing trends, and investor appetite across renewable energy asset classes.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in renewable energy transactions, project finance, structured finance, investment banking, or private equity.
- Experience supporting or executing transactions involving debt, tax equity, and/or equity investments.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering; MBA or CFA are a plus.
- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills, with proficiency in Excel and experience building and auditing transaction models.
- Familiarity with renewable energy financing structures, including tax incentives (ITC, MACRS), PPAs, project finance frameworks, and battery storage revenue models (e.g., merchant, tolling, ancillary services).
- Self-starter with strong ability to work independently to accomplish job duties with minimal need for guidance and support in making decisions and recommendations.
- High degree of comfort in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment with ability to effectively manage priorities, communicate to stakeholders, and meet deadlines.
