About the role
- Lead Patient Services Workstreams
- Serve as the primary program leader for a complex Patient Services (Hub) transition supporting a new drug launch, overseeing all IT and operational workstreams from discovery through go-live
- Manage multiple concurrent project tracks across case intake, benefits verification (BV), prior authorization (PA), reimbursement support, patient onboarding, and specialty pharmacy coordination
- Partner closely with vendors, Hub providers, specialty pharmacies, and internal/external IT teams to ensure seamless data flows and operational readiness
- Oversee integrations, API connectivity, CRM/Hub platform configuration, and data migration activities required for launch
- Manage cross-functional readiness including SOP development and training plans
- Lead risk management, issue resolution, and executive-level reporting to ensure on-time, compliant launch execution
- Act as the escalation point for all IT-related hub transition issues, ensuring cross-workstream alignment and rapid decision making
- Develop New Business
- Develop strong professional relationships with clients and key stakeholders such that these individuals regularly turn to you for advice and resource needs, establishing Project Outlier as a strategic partner
- Understand current and potential client situations, challenges, opportunities, and objectives (“client needs”)
- Understand PrO capabilities to address client needs
- Position yourself as a thought leader by offering strategic guidance on how PrO can add value to the client relationship by addressing their client needs
- Lead sales process to win/earn work with client(s) (i.e. identify new opportunities, capabilities presentation, proposal)
- Facilitate contracting process between client organization(s) and PrO (i.e. MSA, SOW, CO)
- Lead Delivery of Great Client Service
- Participate in Strategic Resource Management (“SRM”) and Talent Acquisition (“TA”), as warranted, to effectively staff client team throughout client engagement
- Effectively onboard team members to client team(s)
- Lead client team members to deliver exceptional service and measurable results to client(s) by demonstrating professionalism and integrity, setting high standards for quality and excellence in client deliverables, and inspiring team to meet or exceed those expectations
- Develop consulting service leaders (i.e., Sr. Mgr./Mgr.) who develop consulting services team members (i.e., Analysts, Consultants, & Sr. Consultants)
- Proactively identify and resolve PrO service delivery challenges to minimize negative impact to clients
- Accountable for achievement of PrO financial objectives (i.e. utilization, bill rates, revenue, gross margin %)
- Collaborate with other PrO client leaders to serve our entire client portfolio and grow PrO (i.e. round tables, knowledge sharing, cross-selling)
- Ensure that client team(s) contribute to PrO body of knowledge (i.e. summarize and publish case studies and testimonials, nominate team members for awards, etc.)
- Solicit feedback from clients and key stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and opportunities to enhance client satisfaction
- Deliver measurable results that demonstrate the value of your consulting services to the client by tracking key accomplishments, projects closed, and assessing the impact of your work on the client’s business
Requirements

- At least 12 years of progressive experience as a consultant or in a consultant-like role
- At least 8 years of project management experience with a proven track record of successfully managing a variety of complex IT projects requiring strong leadership and strategic thinking (e.g. ERP, LIMS, QMS, LMS, system integrations, M&A, infrastructure, etc.)
- Must have 5+ years of direct Patient Services IT Program Management experience, leading multi-workstream implementations for pharma product launches or hub transitions
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent IT workstreams, including CRM/Hub platform build, data migration, patient case management systems, and specialty pharmacy connectivity
- Strong understanding of patient services operational workflows, including benefits verification, prior authorization, reimbursement support, escalations, and case management
- Must have deep knowledge in biotech/pharmaceuticals
- At least 5 years of consulting leadership experience (must have led client facing teams)
- At least 5 years of leadership experience with at least 2 managing managers
- Ability to create a positive, learning environment for each team member
- An advanced fluency in Power Point skills as this role requires creating compelling presentations for executives
- Ability to motivate and inspire team members, provide guidance and direction, and foster a collaborative and results-oriented environment
- Ability to quickly develop or already possess proficient knowledge of our core services
- A mindset of innovation to recommend solutions that push the client in new or different directions
- Prepared to go above and beyond in your own development, lead by example, develop others, and develop the client; lead and coach others with and without authority

- Experience building relationships and credibility with clients, peers, team members, decision-makers, and influencers
- Ideally located in the San Diego, CA area or in one of the pharma/biotech hot spots: Greater San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, New Jersey, Philadelphia, or North Carolina; must be willing to travel to clients, conferences, etc.
