Manager

• Own a rich project management plan and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure successful end-to-end execution
• Design operational models for new programs, including assessing trade-offs of different design decisions (e.g., targeting, payments, customer service)
• Define, track, and report operational and efficiency metrics
• Dynamically identify operational vulnerabilities (e.g. fraud, brand risk etc) and create solutions to de-risk

Senior Manager

• Identify and shape high-potential opportunities – Build and refine a pipeline of “big bet” initiatives by synthesizing internal priorities, market signals, and emerging trends, and rapidly translating ambiguous ideas into clear strategies, theories of change, and milestones with success metrics.
• Own and drive end-to-end execution of priority initiatives – Take ownership for advancing one high-stakes opportunity at a time from concept through execution, maintaining momentum over weeks or months and increasing hit rates across a portfolio of bets.
• Lead complex cross-functional collaboration – Align and mobilize teams across Product, Programs, Research, Finance, and other functions to unlock new funding pathways and deliver against ambitious, organization-wide goals.
• Build and manage high-value external relationships – Develop new partnerships with senior stakeholders, particularly in technically sophisticated and fast-evolving sectors, and support or lead engagement with major donors, foundations, and strategic partners.
• Develop tailored partnership and funding strategies – Create bespoke engagement plans, pitch materials, and narratives that resonate with specific partners and unlock large-scale, funding opportunities.
• Support high-stakes decision making and leadership engagement – Partner closely with senior leadership (including at CEO and Board level) to prepare for critical external meetings and gatherings.

Senior Manager, Special Projects

Director

• Own the product vision and multi-year strategy, translating it into annual and quarterly goals and clear 'go/no-go' decision points.
• Define and maintain the core 'hypotheses' that ground GiveDirectly’s investment in this product (impact/value, feasibility/delivery, and growth/fundability), including what evidence would change our confidence.
• Build a crisp roadmap that separates (a) what must be proven, (b) what must be built, and (c) what must be scaled—then ruthlessly prioritize to match the year’s goal.
• Lead program design choices (e.g., transfer size, timing/cadence, etc), grounded in evidence and operational realities.
• Ensure the program meets a high bar for recipient dignity, safeguarding, consent, and clarity - especially given the sensitivity of pregnancy and newborn outcomes.
• Partner closely with programs teams to identify where reality diverges from our plans, diagnose root causes, and implement adaptations quickly and thoughtfully.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage partners critical to targeting and outcomes (e.g., community health NGOs, health facilities, government health systems, digital maternal health platforms).
• Define the operating model: what GiveDirectly must do vs. what partners can do better (and cheaper), and how responsibilities, incentives, data flows, and accountability work.
• Develop playbooks for recipient targeting/verification, enrollment of pregnant women, payment timing, troubleshooting, and issue escalation—then standardize across countries where appropriate.
• Develop a concrete learning agenda and evidence narrative, ensuring collection of 'decision-grade' evidence and packaging it into a persuasive narrative for stakeholders.

Director, Mothers & Babies

Account Manager

• Conduct county-level research for priority states, synthesizing data on poverty, birth rates, infant mortality, and Medicaid coverage to identify highest-need geographies and model program costs from government and public health datasets
• Research and map the stakeholder landscape in new states, identifying those aligned with maternal and child health, early childhood, or unconditional cash
• Track multi-state pipeline across prospect, active, and committed stages—flagging risks and identifying next steps to maintain momentum
• Build and maintain briefing materials, contact lists, and workplans across a multi-state pipeline
• Support the Program Director in preparing for external meetings—drafting agendas, preparing background research, and developing presentation materials
• With the Program Director and Fundraising Manager, draft concept notes, funder briefs, meeting follow-ups, and proposals tailored to specific audiences
• Take independent responsibility for exploratory conversations, including inbound interest from new geographies, maintaining warm relationships and ensuring timely follow-through
• As new sites move toward launch, support operational planning: developing staffing plans, marketing efforts, enrollment plans, and program design adaptations in coordination with internal teams and external partners
• Lead identification, selection, and onboarding of local community partner organizations, build and maintain those relationships, and oversee their work in support of program goals
• Lead hiring for site-level associates
• Serve as a bridge between the Program Director, Rx Kids Michigan team, and on-the-ground site staff during critical launch phases
• Lead adaptation of GiveDirectly's technology platform and processes for new sites, identifying needed configuration changes and seeing them through to implementation
• Own budgets, workplans, and timelines across active expansion efforts, proactively flagging risks and proposing adjustments
• Support execution of data sharing agreements, grant agreements, and MOUs as commitments are secured, drafting, routing for review and approval, following up to keep processes moving, and negotiating as needed
• Provide substantive review of agreements, flagging issues and ensuring alignment with Rx Kids program principles
