About the role

  • Lead and manage the Construction Operations Division, ensuring projects meet client requirements, timelines, and budgets.
  • Oversee field construction and support operations, including surveying, testing, and inspections, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with remote engineering teams to provide technical support for field activities.
  • Coordinate with clients and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration between project management and construction fieldwork.
  • Manage, mentor, and grow the team to develop in-house talent for future leadership roles.
  • Partake in the preparation, review, and approval of project proposals, bids, and estimates in collaboration with the Bidding, Estimating, & Proposal Writing Department.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations for field operations.
  • Provide regular updates to upper management on project progress, including key performance indicators and risk management strategies.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil engineering, Construction management, or a related field is required. However, extensive relevant experience may be accepted instead of Education.
  • 10+ years of experience in heavy civil construction management with a proven track record of leading field operations.
  • Strong knowledge of construction project management tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work with remote teams.
  • Familiarity with international construction codes and standards.
  • Professional certifications related to engineering or construction management are preferred.
  • Dual experience in engineering design and construction project management is preferred.
  • Experience in surveying, field testing, and inspection would be a plus.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore) and project planning tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera).
  • Experience working with international and remote teams.
  • Familiarity with training and development in construction operations.
