About the role
- Evaluate and treat patients regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical function and developmental disorders.
- Oversee and insure a comprehensive rehabilitation program designed to meet the physical, psychosocial, and immediate environmental well-being of the patient.
- Promote patient/caregiver self-determination by optimizing outside resource utilization to achieve the highest level of independence.
- Coordinate and communicate with various disciplines or services involved in patient care.
- Coordinate efforts toward discharge goals established at initial evaluation and during episode of care.
- Serve as a patient advocate.
- Participate in educational programs, inservices, meetings, and special project teams as required.
- Use EPIC electronic charting system to document care.
Requirements
- Less than one year of experience in physical therapy (new graduates encouraged to apply).
- Bachelor's degree required (Doctor of Physical Therapy preferred).
- NM License of Physical Therapy required.
- BLS required at time of hire.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Basic understanding of the rules and regulations of the specific setting.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of patients served.
