About the role
- Lead frontend delivery within significant product initiatives, owning major areas of the frontend system end-to-end.
- Shape technical approaches and user experience decisions early in initiatives, contributing to solution design and direction.
- Help define initiative scope and make pragmatic technical and UX trade-offs to deliver strong outcomes within fixed delivery windows.
- Guide the evolution of frontend architecture, applications, and components so they remain understandable and maintainable as the product grows.
- Collaborate closely with Product and Design, helping translate product ideas and designs into clear, workable frontend solutions.
- Build intuitive, data-rich interfaces where correctness and clarity are critical to customer decisions.
- Ensure frontend work performs reliably at scale and supports customers in making high-impact decisions.
- Improve shared frontend systems, patterns, and component libraries when it materially improves clarity, maintainability, consistency, or delivery speed.
- Raise the engineering bar through mentorship, code reviews, pairing, and thoughtful technical feedback.
Requirements
- Experience building data-rich interfaces where correctness, clarity, and usability directly influence customer decisions.
- Strong experience designing and evolving modular, stateful UIs using TypeScript-first frameworks (Vue preferred, React acceptable, Nuxt useful).
- Experience guiding frontend architectural decisions and establishing patterns that improve system clarity and team velocity.
- Strong understanding of modern frontend fundamentals, particularly TypeScript, component-driven development, browser behaviour, and scalable styling approaches.
- Ability to understand complex business rules and represent them clearly and correctly in frontend systems and interfaces.
- Experience shaping technical approaches within product initiatives, helping bring clarity and direction when requirements are still evolving.
- Awareness of frontend security best practices when building customer-facing applications, including safe handling of data, authentication flows, and common web vulnerabilities.
- Comfortable collaborating across disciplines, particularly with Product, Data Science, and Design.
- Able to quickly build context in unfamiliar systems or technologies and apply sound engineering judgment when adopting new tools.
- Bonus: experience with design or UX, or a strong appreciation for usability, accessibility, and visual clarity in complex interfaces.
