Systems Engineer

• Responsible for design, implementation, and operations of control system infrastructure

Engineer

• Assess energy storage technologies and site layout options with respect to long-term project performance requirements

• Provide technical and project management support throughout the development cycle
• Support offtake, equipment procurement, as well as engineering and construction contracting activities

Senior Preconstruction Project Engineer – Battery Storage

Solutions Engineer

• Conduct steady-state transmission system analysis using TARA or related software to evaluate large load and data center interconnection opportunities, identify network upgrade risks, and assess mitigation pathways.
• Support technical analysis associated with large load interconnection and transmission service requests across U.S. markets, with emphasis on ERCOT, MISO, SPP, and PJM.
• Review utility, ISO, and consultant study results to determine feasibility, upgrade exposure, and schedule risk for prospective projects.
• Develop data-driven tools, screening methods, and dashboards to improve interconnection evaluation, portfolio prioritization, and decision-making.
• Use Python to automate data processing, study workflows, case management, and repetitive analytical tasks.
• Leverage AI-driven tools such as Perplexity and GitHub Copilot, where appropriate, to improve workflow speed, document review, research efficiency, code development, data organization, and technical screening.
• Participate in interconnection scoping meetings and other technical discussions with utilities, consultants, and grid authorities.
• Monitor and assess transmission planning, queue reform, and large load integration developments that affect project strategy in key markets.
• Support technical due diligence on transmission and interconnection constraints for prospective development opportunities.
• Provide technical guidance to internal teams on transmission and interconnection considerations, including upgrade risk, study assumptions, and market-specific process requirements.
• Attend and contribute to stakeholder meetings and calls in ERCOT, MISO, SPP, and PJM, especially those related to data centers, large load integration, interconnection policy, queue management, and transmission planning.
• Track stakeholder initiatives, tariff changes, and policy developments related to large load interconnection and communicate key implications to internal stakeholders.

Grid Integration Engineer – Battery Storage

• Oversee and lead the technical deliverables associated with the design, construction, and commissioning of Plus Power’s BESS projects in collaboration with third-party engineering and EPC firms
• Support the EPC Leadership Team on a broad range of supplier and contractor management matters across multiple equipment vendors and construction firms
• Partner with the Transmission, Interconnection, and Market Analysis teams in the definition, review, negotiation, and execution of interconnection agreements
• Assist with the preparation and issuance of RFQ/RFP packages to EPC contractors and Engineering consultants
• Support the EPC Procurement team in developing and issuing project scopes of work, RFPs, schedules, budgets, cash flow projections and technical contract requirements
• Attend meetings with various project stakeholders including developers, contractors, consultants, and utility companies
• Travel to project sites before, during, and after construction to support a wide range of project-related tasks and activities
• Provide input on permitting and regulatory applications and respond to stakeholder inquiries when requested by the internal development team

Senior Project Commissioning Engineer – Battery Storage

Manager

• Manage from one to three sites and will be the responsible party for all on-ground activities relating to the operations and maintenance of the site.
• Gain a full understanding of the operations of their site(s) and will be able to explain the operations status at any time.
• Have intimate knowledge of issues on their sites and prioritize issues in the order of safety, site performance, and nice to have.
• Be a proactive member of the Plus Power team solving problems and involving management early and often to solve issues before they become site limiting problems.
• Coordinate with the Director of Field Operations for a forward-looking schedule of site work.
• Ensure compliance with up-to-date safety and electrical policies for the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors.
• Perform quality and safety inspections/audits on maintenance activities of field technicians.
• Deliver updates regarding site maintenance activities, including planned and unplanned maintenance.
• Identify and report critical issues in a timely manner to maximize uptime, allow for successful energy market operations, and ensure stakeholder contract compliance.
• Support field O&M providers to assist with maintenance or complex repairs.
• Oversee effective scheduling and coordination of maintenance and repair activities.
• Support quick response to site communication and plant/equipment control failures with the trading team, remote operations, EMS supplier, and asset managers.
• Provide technical support to onsite technicians, and other vendors.
• Ensure the creation of service work orders for corrective repairs, as needed, and the follow through of work to completion.
• Ensure daily records are kept current to maintain regulatory compliance.
• Ensure preventative maintenance activities are properly scheduled per the contractual obligations and seasonal restrictions.
• Identify any additional services needed and ensure steps are taken to advance facility needs.
• Identify and determine root cause(s) of underperforming systems with support from performance engineering and O&M field team.
• Manage overtime work of field team, generally remaining within contracted services.
• Coordinate all activities between the site management and O&M providers.
• Ensure complete and timely filing of Warranty Claims as needed and manage warranty work to completion.
• Travel up to 60% for in-field work, onsite supervision or to support other Field Managers as needed during planned or forced outages.
• Coordinate monthly outage plan with internal and external stakeholders.
• Responsible for ensuring site safety to include pre-job JHAs and other relevant forms.
• Expected to coordinate with the Director of EHS on best practices and align on site safety requirements.

• Coordinate with Asset Managers to ensure that all contractual commitments to/with key stakeholders and O&M contractors are upheld.

• This role is not expected to perform primarily hands-on work, but rather to manage third parties who will perform maintenance and repairs.

BESS Field Manager

Data Engineer

• Define and evolve data architecture standards for analytics and reporting, including data modeling, naming conventions, schema design, and documentation practices across the organization
• Own the data catalog and metadata strategy, partnering with stakeholders to define, name, and organize data assets across multiple domains and source systems
• Collaborate closely with Principal Data Engineering leadership and application engineering teams to align on ELT patterns, Snowflake usage, schema evolution, and analytical data modeling practices
• Contribute hands‑on through SQL and Python, developing reference data models, prototypes, templates, and example implementations that demonstrate architectural intent
• Support and enable data analysts by establishing consistent data usage, modeling standards, and shared definitions across a wide range of technical skill levels
• Partner with application engineers on schema design to support rapid application development and reliable integration between operational and analytical data systems
• Support PostgreSQL (including AWS Aurora) and Snowflake data modeling and analytical access patterns in collaboration with platform and database stakeholders
