About the role

  • Assisting with daily finance operations for our Finnish entity, including accounts payable, invoicing, expense management, and reconciliation tasks in line with Finnish GAAP (FAS).
  • Supporting in monthly and year-end closing processes.
  • Helping maintain and improve internal financial controls, process documentation, and workflow optimization.
  • Supporting the team in managing bank transactions, payment flows, and card-related financial monitoring.
  • Assisting in financial audits.
  • Providing administrative support for HR-related finance topics, such as employee benefits, and payroll-related documentation.
  • Supporting finance workstreams related to international expansion, including initial setup and reporting support for the US market, and gaining exposure to US GAAP requirements.
  • Coordinating with other Pliant teams (e.g. PayOps, People, Customer Success) on finance- and operations-related topics.

Requirements

  • Currently studying Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of Finnish GAAP (FAS) and a strong interest in learning IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Analytical mindset and high proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets; interest in automation or finance tools is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; Finnish is an advantage.
  • A structured, detail-oriented way of working with a high sense of ownership and reliability.
  • Curiosity and motivation to learn about Finance, Accounting, Payments, and Fintech in an international environment.
  • You enjoy working independently, are solution-oriented, and feel comfortable in a dynamic, fast-changing setting.
