About the role
- Lead research to understand customer segments, workflows, unmet needs, and decision drivers.
- Analyze market dynamics, competitive offerings, and emerging applications in RNA-seq and related assays.
- Translate customer insight into clear product requirements and prioritization frameworks.
- Serve as the internal voice of the transcriptomics customer.
- Define and evolve the roadmap for the Transcriptomics portfolio.
- Manage products from concept and validation through launch and iteration.
- Identify and develop novel RNA-seq-based applications to advance scientific research.
- Build business cases that align technical feasibility, operational capability, and commercial opportunity.
- Ensure cross-functional alignment on roadmap priorities.
- Lead pricing and positioning strategies.
- Collaborate with Marketing to develop Go-to-Market strategy, define product messaging, execute promotional activities, and enable Revenue teams.
- Track adoption, customer feedback, and performance metrics to guide iteration.
- Help evolve product management frameworks, documentation standards, and cross-functional processes.
- Improve roadmap visibility and execution rigor across teams.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years experience launching products or services that deliver clear customer value.
- Demonstrated ownership of full product lifecycle management, from sample preparation through data delivery.
- Experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
- Deep understanding of the sequencing market, key customer segments, and RNA-seq applications.
- Technical familiarity with short-read sequencing platforms, library preparation, and transcriptomic data analysis.
- Familiarity with tissue culture workflows and cell biology assays. Hands-on research experience with cultured cell models (e.g. tumor cell lines or iPSCs) is highly desirable.
- Advanced degree in molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, bioengineering, or related field (PhD preferred).
