About the role

  • Administering cases; serving clients; conducting legal and factual research; preparing documents, exhibits, reports and case filings
  • Executing case filings; provide support for activities surrounding drafting, processing, updating and filing tariff and tariff related agreements
  • Provide support for drafting and processing of service agreements and other legal documents
  • Assisting attorneys in data and discovery requests
  • Acting as a liaison among various internal departments as well as outside agencies
  • Facilitating legal proceedings
  • Organize case files and documents, assist in cases
  • Maintain files and assist in management of Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (“FERC”) and legal proceedings
  • Provide legal support for PJM counsel in stakeholder process, litigation and regulatory proceedings
  • Conduct legal and factual research, prepare memos and reports
  • Prepare, maintain and update various PJM reports used both internally and externally

Requirements

  • Associates degree or at least
  • At least 1-3 years of experience for Paralegal I and at least 3-5 years of experience for Paralegal II
  • Paralegal: as a law clerk or paralegal in a law firm, corporate legal department or governmental agency, or public utility company in an energy/electricity/FERC-related role.
  • Experience with PJM operations, markets, and planning functions
  • Experience with eTariff
  • Experience with FERC
  • Experience with regulated electric utility(ies)
  • Experience with state public utility commissions
  • Experience with contract management systems
  • Experience with knowledge management systems
  • Paralegal Certificate
  • Ability to produce high-quality work products with attention to detail
  • Ability to visualize and solve complex problems
  • Experience using verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint).
