Paralegal

• Responsible for handling a wide range of civil legal needs of low-income residents
• Support Pine Tree’s general intake system by spending two 2.5 – 3 hour shifts per week on Pine Tree’s telephone intake system, Call Center
• Complete additional intakes during the Bangor office’s weekly walk-in hours
• Handle all legal work in accordance with Pine Tree’s written Standards of Practices
• Address administrative responsibilities as a Pine Tree employee in a prompt and thorough manner
• Open case files in a timely manner, promptly communicate with attorney to determine next steps
• Actively participate and contribute to regular case meetings

Human Resources

• Maintaining up-to-date employment records in the HRIS systems and personnel files
• Providing responsive, thorough, and appropriate Human Resources support to staff
• Assisting with compliance requirements by consistently and accurately maintaining records in accordance with applicable rules and systems
• Acting as an administrator for Pine Tree’s retirement plan
• Assisting Finance/HR Director and hiring managers with hiring and onboarding
• Maintaining up-to-date benefits administration, including employee enrollments and changes
• Assisting with updating and maintaining employee policies
• Assisting the Finance/HR Director in the implementation and maintenance of personnel management systems and processes

Human Resources Coordinator

Attorney

• Provide high-quality legal services to victims of domestic and sexual violence
• Collaborate with local domestic and sexual violence resource centers
• Participate in working groups focused on improving systems for survivors
• Engage in community networking to strengthen access to legal services
• Assess and triage cases with FLVR Managing Attorney

Family Law, Victim Rights Attorney

• Provide high-quality, low-barrier holistic legal services to victims in Maine
• Provide legal services to victims of domestic and sexual violence and stalking
• Provide occasional coverage for Family Law and Victim Rights cases in other areas of Maine on an as-needed basis
• Work under the direction of the Family Law and Victim Rights supervisor
• Collaborate with staff at local domestic and sexual violence resource centers
• Assess and triage cases in consultation with the FLVR Managing Attorney and team members
• Provide consultations to partner agency staff in appropriate case-related issues
• Consult and collaborate with other service providers, law enforcement officers, prosecutors, and more
• Participate in working groups and coalitions focused on improving systems for domestic and sexual violence survivors
• Responsible for community engagement and networking to strengthen access to legal services
