About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Handle intake and address legal needs of victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and trafficking
Spend up to 22 hours/week responding to requests for legal help from victims
Cover one 2.5-3 hour call center shift per week
Conduct client interviews, eligibility screening, and contemporaneous computerized data entry
Provide legal information and referrals to clients
Work with colleagues to prioritize and document cases
Provide legal assistance under attorney supervision, including client counseling and litigation support
Assist with office duties and maintain office resources

Requirements

What you’ll need

A valid driver's license and the ability to travel throughout Maine is required
Current appointment as a Maine Notary Public is preferred, but we will assist the right candidate to acquire this credential upon hire
Must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the state of Maine
