About the role

  • The Global Medical Director partners cross-functionally with medical teams, platform functions, health and value functions, clinical development, legal, compliance and commercial teams to plan, execute and support activities.
  • Collaborates directly with regional and country medical teams to understand major unmet medical needs and the medical environment including HCP and patient perspectives, regulatory and access dynamics at the country level and integrate needs and insights to co-create global medical plans.
  • Responsible for the co-development and implementation of integrated launch plans and leads on the development and execution of Global Medical launch strategies for Talazoparib in the prostate cancer indications.
  • Provides deep therapeutic area expertise with firm Medical judgment and proven abilities in the objective interpretation and application of Medical and scientific data.
  • Serves as an asset expert to Medical and cross-functional teams and plays a key role in understanding the external healthcare ecosystem through peer-to-peer relationships with Key Opinion Leaders.
  • Lead and support global external meetings including advisory boards, congresses, and symposia.
  • Lead on evidence dissemination and education activities.
  • Actively participate in and represent the team in various internal exchange forums.
  • Diligent management of resources.

Requirements

  • MD, PhD or PharmD required
  • For MD posting: MD required with 3 or more years of applicable experience.
  • For non-MD posting: PharmD or PhD with 6 or more years of applicable experience pharmaceutical oncology industry experience required
  • US and/or global product launch experience strongly preferred
  • International experience a plus
  • Prostate cancer knowledge/experience a plus
  • Knowledge of global healthcare ecosystem (i.e., stakeholder landscape, competitive dynamics, regulatory environment, healthcare delivery systems, reimbursement and access landscape, etc.)
  • Knowledge of drug development from early stage to commercialization
  • Very strong communications and relationship building capacity with ability to listen, understand internal and external needs
  • Very strong presentation skills suitable for global leadership and external audiences
  • Comfort with ambiguity, and complex “white space” environments.
  • Ability to embrace and encourage the implementation of innovative ideas and foster a culture of collaboration/teamwork.
  • Medical writing/scientific publication experience (academia or industry) strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise and capabilities in matrixed organizations and influencing without authority
  • Ability to plan and chair advisory boards with international key opinion leaders
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and demonstrates ability to prioritize and make decisions to maximize value and resource allocation.
