About the role

  • Prepare Federal contract offers based on complex data analysis, compliance with Federal contract regulations, and identification of risks
  • Develop strategic recommendations for presentation and approval to upper management
  • Manage assigned Federal accounts, analytics and contract lifecycle management including payments
  • Lead or collaborate on negotiations for Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) contracts and related solicitations
  • Fulfill regulatory requirements for contract administration process and ensure compliance with laws, regulations, pricing guidelines, portfolio management, and brand strategy
  • Develop contract proposals and agreements for Federal customers (e.g., Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense, Big 4 agencies), PHS 340B, CDC, and Medicaid State offices or PBMs
  • Use Pfizer modeling systems and tools including Microsoft Office, Business Objects (BO), Model N FLEX RM and GP, IQVIA State View Plus and SAP to analyze profit/loss, ROI, product and market trends
  • Present recommendations to upper management and may lead direct negotiations with Federal customers
  • Administer executed agreements, manage contracts during their term, develop amendments and customer communications, track contract lifecycle and product offers
  • Analyze contract performance and report results to Management
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop the annual operating budget and quarterly accrual/formulary tracking updates
  • Build and foster relationships with cross-functional teams (Contract Strategy, Legal, Trade, Sales, Account Management, Product Brand Teams, Compliance, Contract Operations, Digital, Government Pricing (CMS), Customer Service, Global Financial Services, Corporate Finance, Customer Analytics, Pfizer Business Units)
  • Lead or contribute to special projects for process improvement, increased operational efficiency, or training needs
  • Work within laws and regulations of Federal contracts, pharmaceutical industry and Pfizer policies
  • Project management oriented role requiring coordination across large cross-functional teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor\'s degree minimum required
  • 6 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Government Contracts and/or Government Pricing, managed care, or institutional contracting
  • Demonstrated breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities (influence, collaboration, coaching, oversight)
  • Comfortable working under constant deadlines and managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfort with ambiguity; ability to act without having the total picture
  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with teams across an organization
  • Advanced skills in Excel including proficiency with pivot tables, charts, and formulas, and strong proficiency in working with large data files
  • Demonstrated expertise in analytical modeling
  • Intermediate skills with MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook
  • Demonstrated proficiency in contracting-related systems such as Government Pricing, Model N FLEX Revenue Management, Model N GP, Business Objects (BO), Tableau, IQVIA State View Plus, and SAP
  • Knowledge of Federal contracts (FSS, PHS 340B, CDC, Strategic National Stockpile, Medicaid Supplemental) and Managed Care channels
  • Ability to analyze profit/loss, ROI, product and market trending analysis
  • Ability to present recommendations to upper management
  • Ability to lead negotiations and provide additional analysis and documents as needed
  • Ability to administer and manage executed agreements, develop amendments, track contract lifecycle, and analyze contract performance
  • Ability to travel based on business needs
