About the role
- Define enterprise-wide technical architecture strategy and roadmaps aligned with business objectives
- Establish and formalize architectural governance processes, review boards, and enforcement mechanisms
- Provide architectural guidance to Infrastructure, DevOps, and engineering teams and facilitate design reviews
- Collaborate hands-on with platform engineering teams to develop shared microservices (identity, content management, message bus)
- Design internal developer platforms, automation initiatives, and tooling to improve developer productivity
- Drive reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability standards across the platform
- Lead technical debt reduction strategies and platform modernization efforts
- Scale and advise on building high-performing platform engineering teams and foster technical excellence
- Serve as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team reporting to the Chief Technology Officer
Requirements
- 15+ years in enterprise architecture, platform engineering, or senior technical roles
- 8+ years in VP-level or equivalent leadership positions managing technical teams
- Healthcare industry experience with deep regulatory compliance understanding
- SaaS platform experience at scale with multi-tenant architecture expertise
- Cloud-native mastery: AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Microservices, containerization, and serverless architecture experience
- Platform engineering: Kubernetes, service mesh, API gateways, and developer tooling
- Modern practices: DevOps, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and automation
- Healthcare technology: HL7, FHIR, HIPAA compliance knowledge
- Strategic competencies: strategic thinking, executive presence, influence without authority, change management
- Technical mentoring and leadership of senior technical talent
- Enterprise architecture skills: business capability mapping, solution design, technology stack decisions
- Security architecture: compliance frameworks and security-by-design
- Data architecture: information governance and analytics platform strategy
- Integration platforms: event-driven architecture and inter-service communication
- Preferred: Advanced degree (CS, Engineering, or MBA) and industry recognition (speaking, publications)
