About the role
- Support the Operations and Sales teams
- Manage Inbound and Outbound freight across multiple transportation modes
- Report directly to the Senior Planning Manager of North America
- Manage logistics for inbound raw materials & outbound customer orders fulfillment
- Coordinate Drayage, Full Truckload (FTL), and LTL transportation movements
- Manage relationships with brokers and carriers
- Negotiate freight rates and manage freight cost
- Optimize load planning and spend efficiency
- Identify opportunities and/or inefficiencies and offer solutions for improvement
- File, monitor, and follow up on freight claims with carriers
Requirements
- Strong communication, problem solving and the ability to collaborate
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Experience working with freight brokers and carriers preferred
- Time management, prioritization and multitasking abilities
- A commitment to continuous improvement
- Great problem solving skills
- Detail oriented and methodical
- Self-starter
- Comfortable in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
