Develop, support, and maintain SQL jobs and SSMS packages for data imports, exports, and transformations to ensure seamless data integration and workflow automation
Monitor database systems and Airflow for performance and respond promptly to any system outages or disruptions, ensuring minimal downtime and quick recovery
Provide ongoing maintenance of database refreshes, including checking Docker Containers, backups, and performance tuning to ensure data integrity
Design and implement standards for data storage, workflow, maintenance, access, and security administration to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance
Diagnose and resolve system errors and other database-related issues, utilizing a systematic approach to troubleshooting
Run and analyze reports to identify common issues, complaints, and areas for improvement, implementing logging solutions to track issues
Install or update database software to address issues, improve functionality, and ensure compatibility with other systems
Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Analytics department

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, CIS, Computer Science, Software Development, Mathematics or a related field
Relevant work experience can be considered in lieu of a degree
Relevant certifications are highly desirable, including certifications focused on database management (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate)
Experience working in a dental or healthcare-related organization is a plus, with familiarity in managing and securing health information systems
Extensive experience with SQL Server, including SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, with experience in cloud database services like Amazon RDS, Azure SQL Database
Strong scripting abilities, particularly in PowerShell, to automate routine database tasks and improve efficiency
Proven expertise in designing and managing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure accurate and efficient data integration
Strong skills in database design, modeling, and optimization to ensure scalable and high-performance databases
Comprehensive knowledge of database security best practices, including data encryption, access control, and vulnerability assessment
Experience in developing and implementing disaster recovery plans and backup procedures to ensure data integrity and availability
Understanding of regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, GDPR, or other data protection laws relevant to database management.
