About the role

  • Develop, support, and maintain SQL jobs and SSMS packages for data imports, exports, and transformations to ensure seamless data integration and workflow automation
  • Monitor database systems and Airflow for performance and respond promptly to any system outages or disruptions, ensuring minimal downtime and quick recovery
  • Provide ongoing maintenance of database refreshes, including checking Docker Containers, backups, and performance tuning to ensure data integrity
  • Design and implement standards for data storage, workflow, maintenance, access, and security administration to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance
  • Diagnose and resolve system errors and other database-related issues, utilizing a systematic approach to troubleshooting
  • Run and analyze reports to identify common issues, complaints, and areas for improvement, implementing logging solutions to track issues
  • Install or update database software to address issues, improve functionality, and ensure compatibility with other systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Analytics department

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, CIS, Computer Science, Software Development, Mathematics or a related field
  • Relevant work experience can be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Relevant certifications are highly desirable, including certifications focused on database management (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate)
  • Experience working in a dental or healthcare-related organization is a plus, with familiarity in managing and securing health information systems
  • Extensive experience with SQL Server, including SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, with experience in cloud database services like Amazon RDS, Azure SQL Database
  • Strong scripting abilities, particularly in PowerShell, to automate routine database tasks and improve efficiency
  • Proven expertise in designing and managing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure accurate and efficient data integration
  • Strong skills in database design, modeling, and optimization to ensure scalable and high-performance databases
  • Comprehensive knowledge of database security best practices, including data encryption, access control, and vulnerability assessment
  • Experience in developing and implementing disaster recovery plans and backup procedures to ensure data integrity and availability
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, GDPR, or other data protection laws relevant to database management.
