About the role
- Produce high-quality sound design using custom recordings and library material to create original audio.
- Design and build playback and implementation systems for targeted audio content and features.
- Perform on-location recording and Foley recording as required.
- Responsible for multiple audio sub-disciplines (e.g., environmental audio, physical audio, etc.).
- Define and maintain technical standards for sessions and assets.
- Ensure optimization of all related systems and content according to technical guidelines and budgets.
- Edit, convert, implement, and manage large volumes of audio content.
- Act as a reference point for other sound designers, providing feedback and artistic guidance.
- Initiate and participate in spotting and review sessions with the audio team.
- Ensure deliveries meet production deadlines and schedules.
- Perform audio playback testing (on target platforms) and audio quality assurance.
- Identify, report, help prioritize, and resolve audio bugs/issues.
- Define and advocate improvements for R&D projects, the pipeline, and workflows.
- Support the manager/director in the recruitment process in collaboration with HR.
Requirements
- Proficiency in audio implementation at all levels: animations, cinematics, scripted sequences, blueprint-style scripts, data tables, ambient actors, volumes, triggers, and similar systems.
- Deep mastery of visual and textual scripting tools for audio integration and behavior.
- Strong knowledge of middleware solutions such as Wwise is essential.
- Strong knowledge of recording techniques, Foley, and on-location recording.
- High familiarity with audio software such as Pro Tools, Reaper, Nuendo, Sound Forge, WaveLab, and VST plugins.
- Production experience for Xbox Series X / PS5 and other platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Perforce, JIRA, and Agile methodology.
- Software: sound editing and DAW recording for game production (Reaper, Pro Tools, Vegas, ...).
- Proficiency with audio software (e.g., WaveLab).
- Sound design and VST plugins for Wwise audio production.
- Sound library management and preview software (Soundly, SoundMiner, BaseHead, etc.).
- Experience: 6+ years in sound design and audio production for relevant media or industries.
