Create high-quality, industry-leading 3D characters that balance visual fidelity, performance, and gameplay requirements.
Work closely with art directors and project leads to define and implement an artistic vision across projects.
Mentor and support internal and external character artists, providing thoughtful, constructive feedback.
Collaborate with outsourcing and production teams to plan, track, and integrate character art deliverables on schedule.
Oversee the quality and consistency of all character-related content, ensuring compliance with People Can Fly (PCF)’s artistic standards.
Contribute to documentation, tutorials, and best practices that elevate the team’s collective skills.
Research and adopt new techniques and workflows to continuously improve the artistic quality of characters.
Integrate assets directly into the game engine and collaborate to resolve technical or artistic challenges.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience as a 3D character artist in the video game industry.
Experience delivering at least one AAA title from start to finish.
Strong foundation in traditional art: anatomy, proportions, composition, and color theory.
Advanced proficiency in Maya, ZBrush, Photoshop, and Substance Painter/Designer (Mari, Houdini, Unreal or Unity are a plus).
Good understanding of game production pipelines, including high/low poly modeling, physically based rendering (PBR) materials, UV layouts, and optimization.
Ability to solve complex artistic and technical challenges both collaboratively and independently.
Excellent communication, organizational, and prioritization skills.
