About the role
- As a Support Specialist – Accounting & Financial Operations, you position yourself as both a subject-matter expert and a platform expert.
- You are the primary point of contact for our client base who have chosen Pennylane as the central software for their accounting and financial management.
- You interact with users daily and seek to understand the issues they encounter.
- After investigating, your goal is to provide an answer or solution to the user, or when necessary, escalate the issue to the technical teams.
- You are also responsible for helping company and firm accountants import their data into Pennylane to facilitate their migration.
- You join the Pennylane Academy and continuously train on the product and the team’s processes.
- You learn to identify all stakeholders and collaborate effectively within your team and with other departments.
- You start handling accounting-related requests: you receive inquiries, qualify them based on a solid understanding of accounting principles, and deliver timely, impactful responses.
- You become a product expert and boost your team’s efficiency by identifying areas for improvement.
Requirements
- Accounting qualification (BTS CGO, DCG, BTS in SME management assistance, Master CCA or Bachelor's in Administrative and Accounting Management).
- At least 5 years’ experience as an accountant within an SME/SMI finance department and/or at least 3 years in an accounting firm (ideally with experience across at least three fiscal periods).
- Direct work with company leadership is a plus (internal advisory work, for example).
- Interest in innovative work tools and new technologies.
- Autonomy and the ability to solve problems independently and find solutions.
- Knowledge of the Pennylane tool is a plus.
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to explain clearly and professionally when interacting with users.
- Ability to understand and respond to clients’ needs, deliver excellent service, and maintain strong client relationships.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to the rapid evolution of the tool.
- Willingness to learn and stay up to date on product developments.
