About the role
- Tax Accountant role for a locally owned tax and accounting firm based in George Town, Tasmania
- Prepare company and trust tax returns, FBT calculations, CGT event management, Division 7A loan compliance and structuring
- Mentor and collaborate with the client's offshore bookkeeping team and support BAS preparation and bookkeeping processes
- Remote work; Monday-Friday 7AM-4PM AU Time (9AM-6PM PH Time)
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in Australian accounting and taxation
- Proficient in Australian tax legislation and compliance
- Familiarity with Australian Tax Office (ATO) systems and compliance deadlines
- Xero and XPM proficiency are required
- Background FYIDocs is advantageous
- Highly accurate with a sharp eye for detail
- An excellent communicator who can train and guide junior or offshore staff
- A self-starter who can work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Motivated to grow with the business and open to taking on more responsibility
