Pearson VUE Test Center Manager for Portland, Oregon location overseeing test center operations and staff.
Perform Test Administrator duties (~60%): arrive on time, perform on-time site opening and closing procedures, check in examinees, verify identification, explain the exam process, monitor examinees while testing, maintain a secure testing environment, communicate with internal technical support to investigate and fix technical issues, adhere to company policies, maintain a professional and clean testing center with light housekeeping duties.
Perform Test Center Manager duties (~40%): onsite manager of a small team of Test Administrators; site staffing, hiring, retention, conflict resolution, and scheduling; train, develop, and coach staff; provide job coaching and fair performance appraisals; first contact for facility issues; multi-tasking and operational oversight.
Schedule responsibilities: work various shifts as scheduled between 7am and 8pm, any day Monday through Saturday; ability to work approximately 2-4 Saturdays per month; address operational problems when not at test center.
Maintain customer-facing professionalism and strong communication while ensuring secure, compliant exam delivery.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience preferred.
Minimum of one year customer service experience preferred.
One year supervision experience in customer service preferred.
Team leading and training skills, exposure to a testing environment preferred.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Must be flexible in work hours and days; ability to work 20-40 hours per week and additional hours as needed.
Available to work various shifts between 7am and 8pm, Monday through Saturday; ability to work approximately 2-4 Saturdays per month; occasional Sunday shifts possible.
Available to address operational problems when not at test center.
Ability to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner and handle a reasonable amount of stress.
Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office Suite, Windows applications, Internet, and email.
Ability to operate a computer and telephone.
Must be able to work in a quiet, focused environment and hear words spoken in soft voices.
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs on occasion.
Must be able to stand for extended periods and escort candidates up to 50-100 times per scheduled shift.
Must be able to sit for long periods, bend, stoop, and lift from a stooped position.
Must be able to see small details at a distance and read names on ID cards and computer screens.
