About the role

  • Drive the financial planning process, including forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Partner with the CFO to analyze and interpret financial data, providing actionable insights to drive decision-making.
  • Work collaboratively with the Controller, VP of Strategy, and Head Actuary to ensure seamless delivery of financial KPIs and improvements to financial infrastructure.
  • Coordinate fundraising activities, providing financial insights and building investor relationships across equity and debt raising processes.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental financial initiatives and ensure resource alignment across key projects.
  • Lead and execute critical strategic initiatives and special projects across the finance team and other departments as directed by the CFO.
  • Evaluate potential strategic partnerships and collaborations that align with the company's growth objectives.
  • Oversee preparation for regular finance-related meetings, such as leadership reviews, board meetings, and investor updates.
  • Serve as a liaison between the CFO and other business stakeholders, ensuring the timely execution of deliverables and follow-up on key action items.
  • Establish and maintain robust processes for tracking and reporting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for the finance team.
  • Develop tools, models, and frameworks to improve the team’s efficiency and visibility into financial performance.
  • Act as a financial integrator, ensuring seamless collaboration between FP&A, accounting, actuarial, and other key finance functions.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in FP&A, investment banking, management consulting, or a senior finance role at a high-growth company or comparable organization.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with a track record of solving complex problems and delivering results.
  • Exceptional analytical and financial modeling skills, with a deep understanding of financial planning processes.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with experience managing multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and adaptable, capable of leading through ambiguity.
  • Strong accounting skills and familiarity with US GAAP accounting and the audit process.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid capacity as needed; candidates based in or able to work from our New York City office are highly preferred.
