About the role
- Build tools, automations, and products used by portfolio founders and Pear's investment and platform teams
- Identify opportunities to save founders and investors time through better tools and automation
- Translate needs into simple, impactful workflows
- Build solutions with minimal maintenance overhead
- Choose the right approach: buy existing software, use low-code/no-code tools, or build from scratch
- Work side-by-side with early-stage founders and gain exposure to how different startups operate
- Ship real products and iterate quickly in a small-team environment
Requirements
- A sophomore or junior in computer science, engineering, or a related field
- Comfortable with at least one programming language (Python or JavaScript)
- Curious about startups and how companies grow from the ground up
- Creative problem solver who can work independently and ship quickly
- Excited to work in a fast-paced, small-team environment where work has immediate impact
- Able to spend ~10 hours per week working on Pear projects over the course of 6 months
- Preferred: based in the Bay Area and able to come to the office occasionally
- Nice-to-haves: experience building internal tools, automation workflows, or founder resources
- Nice-to-haves: familiarity with React, Python, and/or APIs
- Nice-to-haves: product thinking—designing with the end user in mind
- Able to confirm eligibility to work in the United States (application requires response)
