About the role

  • Responsible for logical configuration, activation, and acceptance testing of transmission circuits
  • Execute work orders to configure and activate transmission links across various technologies
  • Conduct and verify acceptance tests (e.g., BER testing, RFC 2544) to ensure circuits meet SLAs
  • Liaise with Network Engineering for route capacity and port allocations
  • Coordinate with field engineers for physical patching and installation
  • Monitor alarms during activation with NOC
  • Maintain accurate documentation by updating circuit databases and "As-Built" documentation
  • Resolve logical setup errors or configuration mismatches during provisioning phase

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of transmission standards and technologies: DWDM, OTN, SDH/PDH, Ethernet, Satellite, Microwave
  • Proficiency with NMS/EMS tools from major vendors (e.g., Huawei, Nokia, Ericsson, Ciena, Juniper, Teja)
  • Experience in designing and reading network topology diagrams, High-Level Design and Low-Level Design (HLD-LLD) documents, and patching schematics
  • Ability to understand link budgets and optical levels
  • Preferably a university Degree in Telecommunications/Electronic/Information System/Computer Engineering or related field with 5 years of transmission experience
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals: IP/MPLS, SDWAN, VLANs
  • Experience with optical DWDM monitoring systems and tools (OTDR results, power meter, ping, traceroute)
  • Troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Experience in telecommunications service provider markets and support processes
  • Well-versed in spoken/written English
