• Handle queries relating to prospective and existing merchants related to financial risk. Solve risk-related issues with merchants.
• Ensure adherence to Company and Card Scheme rules and policies.
• Flag any transactional pattern that does not fit the expected activity and perform an investigation to ensure compliance with Card Scheme Regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
• Review and monitor Fraud and Chargeback levels as per Card Scheme regulations and internal accepted levels and provide notifications to the wider Risk team, management, merchants, and stakeholders.
• Generate reports and insights regarding fraud and merchants’ activity.
• Provide support for periodical and ad-hoc reviews and audits.
• Continuous process improvement and sharing best practices.
• Perform continuous assessment, monitoring, and management of Credit Risk.
• Ensure aggregated Credit Risk exposure is in line with the company’s risk appetite and proactively notify all stakeholders of any deviation.

• Assess and manage risks of the third-party vendors.

Backend Engineer

• Design and build scalable Python-based microservices supporting a new internal gateway enablement platform.
• Take ownership of system architecture decisions, ensuring long-term scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Develop tools and services that improve efficiency of existing Core Gateway and Gateway Projects teams.
• Integrate and abstract third-party APIs and payment-related external services.
• Define engineering standards for the SWAT team (coding practices, API design, service structure).
• Collaborate closely with DevOps to design and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and observability.
• Lead code reviews and ensure high engineering quality across the team.
• Work across legacy (Perl) and modern systems, enabling gradual modernization.
• Identify bottlenecks in existing systems and design technical solutions to remove them.
• Act as a technical reference point within the SWAT team.

Senior Python Backend Developer – SWAT Team

• Develop and maintain Python microservices supporting internal gateway tooling and platform improvements.
• Implement backend features following technical specifications and architectural guidance.
• Integrate third-party APIs and services into existing and new systems.
• Support improvements to legacy and modern systems, including API abstraction layers.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and DevOps on CI/CD, deployments, and monitoring.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Participate in code reviews and team technical discussions.
