About the role
- Prepare financial statements, analysis, and reports in accordance with GAAP.
- Assist in the monthly close process to ensure timely completion.
- Prepare and analyze various balance sheet reconciliations.
- Post and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Prepare financial reports, other analyses, and special projects requested by management.
- Support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance efforts.
- Prepare quarterly and annual tax packages.
- Assist with training junior/staff accountant team members,
- Participate in team meetings and GS&R (Goal Setting & Review) meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- Broad knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
- Three plus years of hands-on financial accounting experience
- Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and banking working knowledge
- Experience with accounting software (Sage preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with experience in Pivot Tables and VLookups
- Knowledge of financial statements and general ledger accounting
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
