About the role
- Support the global supply chain of multiple product lines specific to a Group of Business Units to help increase efficiencies and decrease costs.
- Provide support, guidance and strategic direction to Customers within the organization.
- Reporting to the Director of Transportation, work closely with Business Units throughout the Organization, acting as a partner to do analytical work as it pertains to transportation to provide accurate and timely data to help Leaders make informed decisions.
- Develop and maintain executive dashboards providing Leadership visibility into transportation performance across Parcel, LTL, and TL modes, including cost per shipment, on-time delivery, claims, and carrier performance metrics.
- Serve as a key contributor in the implementation, optimization, and ongoing administration of the Transportation Management System (TMS), ensuring accurate rating, routing, freight audit visibility, and shipment tracking.
- Design and implement processes to gather, validate, and manage transportation data across Parcel, LTL, and TL carriers to improve reporting accuracy and decision-making.
- Perform ongoing analysis of freight spend (Parcel, LTL, TL), mode selection, carrier performance, accessorial charges, back orders, and delivery lead times to identify cost savings and service improvement opportunities.
- Assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions related to transportation execution, TMS utilization, freight audit processes, and global trade compliance.
- Collaborate with Finance teams to ensure accurate freight accruals, vendor invoice reconciliation, freight audit resolution, and timely payment of carrier invoices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Logistics or related field is highly desired
- Familiarity with supply chain processes (e.g. purchasing and inventory management, warehousing and transportation)
- Proficiency in computer databases, statistics applications and logistics programs with the ability to do analysis is desired
- Experience in Power-BI is highly desired
- Strong analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
- Outstanding written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization and beyond
- Driven and creative self-starter with passion to go above and beyond expectations
- Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills, with an affinity towards servicing customers and providing solutions
- A high level of personal integrity (self-esteem, confidence, honesty, and respect) are necessary qualities
- Self-motivated to work independently in a busy environment with changing priorities and the ability to adapt quickly
