About the role

  • Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code using current best practices in web development
  • Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites, including creating and modifying custom themes and plugins
  • Translate visual concepts into functional, responsive, and accessible user interfaces
  • Test, debug, and maintain existing web applications to ensure optimal performance, security, and uptime
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability across various devices and browsers
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing and product teams to gather requirements, define project scopes, and deliver solutions on time
  • Create and maintain software documentation, including API references and system architectures
  • Stay plugged into emerging technologies and industry trends, applying them to operations and activities where appropriate

Requirements

  • Proven experience in web programming or web development
  • Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Understanding of Git and collaborative workflows (e.g. Bitbucket)
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs, web services, and how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
