About the role
- Cover social media for three Owned and Operated stations – Boston, New York and Colorado
- Optimize the biggest stories of the day for social platforms
- Produce and edit videos to engage audiences on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X and Snapchat
- Field content from anchors and correspondents in the field, crafting those assets into original social packages
- Write concise and shareable captions and titles in line with CBS News brand
- Contribute to the growth of the assigned accounts, focusing on followers, video views, and engagement
Requirements
- 2 to 4 years of social media or newsroom experience
- Deep familiarity with social media platforms, audiences and best practices
- The ability to write about a variety of topics in a strong, yet unbiased way
- Strong writing skills with demonstrated portfolio of published work
- Strong producing and editing skills
- Ability to quickly and accurately subtitle video for social, using both editing platforms and the text tools within TikTok and Instagram
- Ability to work well with others under tight deadlines
- Degree in journalism, communications or related
