About the role
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team on workforce planning, organizational development, and culture-building initiatives
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational growth, staff retention, and mission impact
- Champion employee engagement, leadership development, and a workplace culture grounded in equity and belonging
- Support strategic planning processes by providing workforce data, trends, and HR insights to inform organizational decisions
- Design innovative, inclusive recruitment strategies to attract behavioral health professionals and support staff
- Build and strengthen onboarding and professional development programs that set staff up for long-term success
- Partner with leadership to anticipate workforce needs and cultivate talent pipelines
- Develop and maintain succession planning frameworks to ensure organizational continuity
- Foster a supportive, inclusive workplace culture that reflects Paragon's mission and values
- Coach and guide supervisors on employee relations, performance management, and team development
- Lead initiatives that promote staff well-being, recognition, and retention
- Ensure organizational compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including Colorado-specific requirements
- Oversee HR policies, procedures, and systems to support consistent, effective operations
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR data reporting systems
- Manage HRIS platforms and evaluate opportunities to improve HR technology and automation
- Oversee competitive compensation and benefits programs that support recruitment and retention
- Monitor market trends and make data-informed recommendations to keep Paragon competitive as an employer of choice
- Conduct and participate in compensation surveys and ensure pay equity across the organization
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership responsibilities
- Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices, including Colorado-specific employment regulations
- Demonstrated ability to build culture, lead through change, and support organizational growth
- Experience in behavioral health, healthcare, or nonprofit settings
- HR certification (SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or PHR)
- Experience supporting multidisciplinary teams, including clinical staff
- Proven experience managing employee relations, investigations, and conflict resolution
- Experience with HRIS systems and HR data reporting
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
