About the role
- Execute global cloud platform expansions, bringing our platform into new international regions
- Elevate and evangelize our cloud security posture
- Build and maintain centralized logging, monitoring, and alerting using industry best practices and standards
- Transform existing Terraform codebases into reusable, scalable modules, and build out fully automated Terraform CI/CD pipelines
- Implement a hub-and-spoke AWS account model, and deploying and scaling ArgoCD for application and infrastructure delivery
- Uplift our platform against the AWS Well-Architected Framework, guiding remediation plans across all pillars
- Production readiness - handle a moderate size release, know what it means to monitor it and communicate it
- Designs and implements solutions using best practices, drives architecture decisions for their team
- Proactively consider cross team effects of their work, breaks down work and drives with the appropriate stakeholders.
- Proactively communicates updates on progress and blockers to ensure timelines can be met and adjusted accordingly.
- Effectively communicate within your team and other teams.
- Champions your teams best practices to level up those around you.
- Understands the product area you are working with, and how it is used in context of the overall product.
- Works on epics on the scale of ~ 3 months
- Automates infrastructure to enable us to easily build our platform and operate different tenants
- Provide expertise to other developers across engineering, guiding them on the right way to approach automation
- Sees improving developer productivity as a goal and looks for opportunities to enable all of engineering
Requirements
- 5+ Years of experience
- AWS Cloud Formation, Terraform, or similar infrastructure automation language
- Built products with languages like Java/ Python, understand those frameworks and best practices to apply to SRE
- Deployed services based architectures and understand basic CI/ CD Patterns with source control like gitlab
- Understands container based architecture, and when is appropriate to work with kubernetes VS other system models.
- A broad understanding of AWS, from networking to the variety of services it provides to best guide engineering teams.
