About the role
- Strategize, design, and execute the user interface and experience for a single-page application dedicated to early wildfire detection
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to align on requirements, design, and rollout
- Lead feature development and maintain/enhance existing codebase for extensibility
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality
- Champion readable, testable code, accessibility principles, and security best practices
- Contribute to evolving coding standards and best practices
- Participate in evaluating new technologies and tools
- Prioritize and address technical debt and navigate legacy application work
- Identify and resolve issues promptly through strong debugging capabilities
- Integrate with RESTful APIs to facilitate frontend-backend communication
Requirements
- 5+ years of Frontend Engineer Experience
- Experience with HTML, CSS, TypeScript, React
- Experience with React Testing Library and Jest
- Experience with a state management solution (Redux, Zustand, Recoil)
- Design system and component library proficiency (Material Design, Material-UI)
- Effective communication skills
- Cross-functional collaboration with QA, Product, and Backend teams
- Deliver thoroughly tested, accessible solutions and ensure cross-device compatibility
- Expert debugging skills and REST API integration experience
- Must be located in the Pacific or Mountain time zone
- (Nice-to-have) Experience with HTML Canvas, frontend monorepos, Storybook, Mapbox, fullstack development, GCP/AWS, Java, and Python
