About the role
- Work closely with management and HR centres of excellence, to develop and deliver initiatives that improve engagement, increase productivity, and boost retention.
- Proactively identify and address employee concerns, playing a key role in shaping a respectful and highly engaged workplace.
- Lead investigations and provide expert guidance on disciplinary actions, ensuring all processes align with company policies and legislative regulations.
- Manage and mentor the generalist HR Business Partnering team, providing guidance and acting as a primary point of escalation for complex issues.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and excellence, empowering the team to provide exceptional support while developing their professional skills.
- Provide insightful HR reports and commentary, leveraging data to inform business decisions and measure the impact of our people strategies.
- Educate and guide employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and legal compliance
Requirements
- A hands-on approach with a passion for contributing to strategy and HR operations
- 5 plus years experience in either retail or FMCG
- In depth understanding of the General Retail Industry Award and of Australian and New Zealand Labour Legislation
- Experience in leading and coaching direct reports
- Results and solution focused with strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Strong stakeholder engagement
- People oriented with the ability to build rapport & coach at all levels
- Adaptable and flexible with the ability to handle complexity
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence
