About the role
- The Technical Client Manager manages relationships with an assigned portfolio of clients, serving as their primary point of contact and trusted advisor for technology services.
- The role ensures coordinated, timely delivery of IT solutions by facilitating communication between clients and internal technical teams, translating needs into actionable direction, and maintaining high client satisfaction.
- This position manages the shared Account Management inbox, responds to new inquiries and client concerns, and supports team events by coordinating schedules and preparing meeting spaces.
- Assigned to typically larger or more complex accounts, the Technical Client Manager develops a deep understanding of each client's environment, goals, and challenges.
- They help clients maximize value from existing services and identify opportunities for additional solutions, escalating issues to senior leadership when needed.
- The role requires technical fluency to engage effectively with both clients and engineers but does not perform hands-on technical service work.
- Instead, the Technical Client Manager oversees issue routing, monitors progress, and ensures proper follow-through, supporting long-term partnership success and revenue growth.
- Duties include Client Relationship Management, Project Oversight, Strategic Planning, Growth Identification, and Technical Operations Management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related IT or business field preferred.
- Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs required
- Minimum of 4 years of experience performing technical support in an IT environment
- Experience with Windows server/desktop environment and OS, roles, features, operating systems, applications, networking, TCP/IP, hardware, and local/network printing
- Experience with RDS and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V or XenServer)
- Experience with Network administration (Firewall, Switches, Wireless)
- Knowledge of IT Infrastructure, Business Applications, and Help Desk technology
- Knowledge of BCP/DR/Backups
- Experience with RMM, PSA, and other MSP tools
- Experience with Azure and Office 365
- Project management experience a plus
- An equivalent combination of education and job-related experience will be considered.
